  The appointment system at the office is seriously flawed and the patient concern and service is worse by the front office staff. After waiting for a month to see Dr. Hefferon, I called to confirm the time of my appointment and was told that it had been cancelled. After relating that I did not cancel it I was told by the Billing Manager, Tyana, that I must have called or they wouldn't have cancelled it! After relating several times that I did not cancel and that I had only called today to confirm times, Tyana said I could see an associate, but not my own doctor. Would not take responsibility for the error, never offered to put me on a waiting list, or to speak to the doctor to see if I could be put back on the schedule. And then put me on hold to add insult to injury! And this after being a patient for over twenty years! Management of staff and concern for patients is part of running a practice - so bad marks on that scale.

  I flew from New York (where we have world class doctors) just to see Dr. Hefferon. He is that wonderful. He's done knee surgery on one of my knees and I had him do a second opinion on what NY doctors were prescribing for my other knee. He immediately sifted through the multiple conflicting opinions I'd gotten in NY and made everything seem manageable once again. Furthermore, I never feel like I'm a less important patient than any of the other patients he's treated (like, for example, Michael Jordan). And that's huge. To have someone pay as much attention and interest to you and your problems as a superstar athlete is a really rare quality in a doctor (I say from experience). I can't say enough good things.
